Pecos National Historical Park - September 2011

Click on the thumbnails to open a larger image. Pecos National Historical Park is located just east of Santa Fe, NM near the Pecos mountains. A lot of history took place in this pueblo, from pre-historic times until about 1830. It was a major trading center on the Santa Fe Trail with a population of 2,000 or so at its peak. A lot of excavation and restoration has been done to reveal the significant size of this pueblo.Happened to visit this park on a particularly nice, clear day with a pretty sky and only a few other visitors.
